An update to an earlier rollover accident that happened just after 6:30 AM Friday morning.

Warsaw Police say the car was involved in a pursuit shortly before the crash along State Road 15. Detective Sergeant Brad Kellar says officers received a call of a male passed out at the wheel in the intersection of US 30 and County Road 200 North (Anchorage Road).

After two officers arrived on scene, the man, identified as 25-year old Ezekiel Dewayne Fitzpatrick of Warsaw, fled along Anchorage Road then turned north onto State Road 15.

Scanner traffic during the pursuit said speeds were exceeding 100 miles per hour. Police said Fitzpatrick was passing cars on the right side of the road, which caused him to lose control and rollover near the intersection of County Road 400 North, partially ejecting Fitzpatrick from the vehicle.

The man had to be extricated from the vehicle and he was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital, the extent of his injuries is unknown.

Fitzpatrick is facing preliminary charges of fleeing law enforcement and reckless driving, along with other infractions. A blood test is pending a charge of operating while intoxicated as narcotics are believed to be a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
