US Navy Veteran Phend recognized as Veteran of the Month

The Veteran of the Month was recognized at Tuesday’s Kosciusko County Commissioners Meeting.

Veterans Affairs Officer Rich Maron presented Rebecca Phend, a US Navy veteran, with a plaque and also read some of her biography to those in attendance.

Phend served in the Navy from 1988-1992 as an electronics technician/petty officer second class and did various training in Florida, Chicago and Georgia before becoming the station duty officer in Virginia.

She was honorably discharged in 1992 and returned to Kosciusko County and became the owner of Beccassage, providing massage therapy for people and animals since 1993, where she specializes in cancer massage and Reiki. She also taught massage and medical assistance courses at Ivy Tech from 1997 to 2012.
