The city of Warsaw approved a $50,000 transfer within the fire department budget to be used toward a permanent emergency generator.

The common council unanimously passed the request that was made by Warsaw-Wayne Fire Chief Michael Wilson at Monday night’s meeting.

Wilson says the money will go towards the completion of the project to get city hall a permanent generator to be used during power failures. This comes after city hall has had to use a power backup in events of power outages, but that backup is only for limited use.

After the city spends the $50,000, they can get it reimbursed thanks to a grant from Indiana Homeland Security.
