A local event has raised thousands of dollars for Special Olympics Indiana.
The Warsaw Polar Plunge took place Saturday, with participants jumping into the freezing waters of Center Lake.
Temperatures were below 30 degrees and organizers said it was the second coldest year ever for the Plunge in Warsaw.
Special Olympics Indiana Northwest Regional Manager Buzz Lail says at least $13,000 has been raised.
They’re still working to determine the final total as they factor in corporate matches and last-minute donations.
