Warsaw Residents Escape Tuesday Night House Fire

Warsaw Fire Department responded to a house fire at 1306 Oriole Drive, Warsaw, at 11:21 p.m. Tuesday. The fire started in the garage attached to the home and spread into the home’s attic and living room, according to Mike Brubaker, WFD. Four residents safely evacuated the home without injury. The homeowner was treated for smoke inhalation, but was cleared by paramedics at the scene. A car in the garage and pickup truck in the driveway were damaged. According to Kosciusko County records, the home is owned by William E. Harty. The Winona Lake Fire Department and Multi-Township Fire Department were present, and the Atwood Fire Department provided tankers. The Red Cross helped the residents with lodging. The cause of the fire is still being investigated by the WFD, and a damage estimate was not available as of this morning.
