Wawasee Accepts Bids for Building Project

SYRACUSE – Bids for the renovation project at Wawasee High School have been accepted.
Bids for the interior renovations at WHS went to Hamilton Hunter Builders, Fort Wayne, for $1,640,000, with alternate bids approved at $1,729,565,000. Exterior renovations to WHS and the transportation building went to Milestone Construction, Syracuse, for $364,900. The alternative bids were at $508,700. Projects include the technology department, band, choir and art areas and the indoor concession stand.
The Wawasee Community School Corporation held a special meeting Tuesday evening to approve the hires of two new teachers and coaches. Kayla Riportella has been hired as a Language Arts teacher and the head volleyball coach.  Matthew Carpenter was approved to teach math and be the head girls basketball coach.
