Blood drives in Akron today, Warsaw on Saturday

WARSAW — After a summer of declining donations, the American Red Cross needs the public’s help to prevent a blood shortage.

Right now, the Red Cross especially needs type O negative, type O positive and type B negative. 

The Red Cross will host a blood drive at the Akron United Methodist church today from 1 to 6 p.m.

Three bloodmobiles are coming up in Kosciusko County. Those include:

  • Warsaw, Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Fireman’s Building, 1013 E. Arthur St.
  • Warsaw, Aug. 9, noon to 6 p.m., Fireman’s Building, 1013 E. Arthur St.
  • Syracuse, Aug. 15, 1 to 6 p.m., Vineyard Community Church, 10121, Ind. 13.

Donors of all blood types can schedule an appointment to give by downloading the Red Cross Blood Donor App, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS .(1-800-733-2767).
